So grateful to have my best friends from Buffalo here...We had a very fun and memorable 5 days...Love and miss you ....thank you Sue, Jacki and Beth for coming to see me , it meant so much to me that you took the time and traveled to Az. to share your time friendship and love with me..love , hugs and kisses..<3 <3 <3~~~~~~

Nails In The Fence.....

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.....

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all........

He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper..........

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone........

The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, 'You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. But It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound will still be there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.................

The little boy then understood how powerful his words were. He looked up at his father and said “I hope you can forgive me father for the holes I put in you......”

Why Guatemala........
Some of you may be wondering why we are going to Guatemala since our primary focus is Eastern Europe. Well, a few months back I was asked by a dear friend who has been doing a lot of humanitarian work in Guatemala if Roma Boots would be willing to donate some rain boots to Guatemalan street children. Guatemala is one of the poorest countries in the world with a large population of street children living in a nightmare of devastating poverty. After seeing pictures of the the way these children live, my heart broke. As rain season starts and mud slides become the norm, rain mingles with volcanic ash and the feet of these children are exposed to the dangerous elements. The best solution is a pair of rain boots. While Eastern Europe continues to be our primary focus, we will gladly go anywhere else in the world where children have to suffer due to extreme poverty and horrible living conditions. Gabi and Her Baby Quail....

My little Gabi girl has a huge heart for animals, she wants to be an animal doctor ..... She saved a baby Inka Dove last year that was hurt and could not fly and took it to the animal hospital and the vet  took it to the recsue center to nurse it back to health.. Today she rescued a baby quail in our front yard.. She cuddled and fed it. Gabi named it Mohawk. She said she adopted Mohawk and will take care of it until it can fly and protect itself..I am very proud of you Gabi and her sisters for helping her take care of it today...Gabi your going to be an awesome animal doctor ....I love you...
